Wyoming Women's Center was opened in 1977 within the state hospital grounds before it was permanently established in Lusk in 1981.  Wyoming Women's Center is responsible for housing all female death row inmates.  The current housing is approximately 260 in the main facility and approximately 30 additional beds in the Intense Treatment Unit.

Wyoming Honor Farm

Wyoming Honor Farm opened in 1931, and was originally known as the State Penitentiary Farm.  The facility has approximately 280 male inmates.  The farm provides a Wild Horse Program where offenders are allowed to work with horses.  All inmates who do not posses a diploma can join the GED program and further their education through Central Wyoming College.

Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp

Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp is located on state land north of Newcastle Wyoming.  This facility holds approximately 230 male inmates and has a secured Boot Camp building, which holds an additional 50 inmates.  The Boot camp is a 180 day program that is highly structured for offenders under the age of 25.

The Wyoming Department of Corrections has acknowledged the importance of visitation, and how it plays an integral role in the rehabilitation and eventual successful reintegration with society.  Offenders who maintain a strong support network during their incarceration have shown a reduced risk of committing future crimes.

Sending Mail to Inmates in Wyoming

Inmates in Wyoming are allowed to send and receive an unlimited amount of mail, so long as they can afford the postage.  All mail is opened and inspected for contraband.  Inmates are prohibited from communicating with victims with the exception of their participation in offender apology letters authorized by the correctional facility administrator.  Mail is usually processed to the inmate within 48 hours of the facility receiving it but an take up to 72 hours (mail is not processed on weekends or holidays).

Wyoming State Penitentiary which is also referred to as the South Facility is a high security prison located in Rawlins,Wyoming.  Wyoming State Penitentiary is responsible for housing all male death row inmates in the state.  This facility holds a maximum of 670 adult male inmates.
