Wyoming Women's Center was opened in 1977 within the state hospital grounds before it was permanently established in Lusk in 1981.  Wyoming Women's Center is responsible for housing all female death row inmates.  The current housing is approximately 260 in the main facility and approximately 30 additional beds in the Intense Treatment Unit.  The facility has an Aquaculture building where the inmates raise Tilapia fish.  Additional programs for the inmates at this facility include GED classes, computer classes, parenting classes, workforce development, critical thinking, culinary arts and dietary management training.
