Huntington Work Release Center

Huntington Work Release Center is minimum security community based coed facility that houses up to 66 non-violent offenders in five dormitories.  The purpose of this facility is to provide the inmate with a successful transition from incarceration to a productive member of society.  Huntington Work Release Center places a strong emphasis on individual accountability and re-entry programing.  Programs at this facility are designed to increase an offenders skill set, and give them a foundation of work to prepare them financially for their upcoming release.  Inmates at Huntington Work Release Center are responsible for paying a small rent, restitution, child support, medical expenses, and any outstanding court fines or fees.

Inmates on work release are allowed to leave the facility during the day to report to a job in the surrounding community.  At the end of their workday offenders must report back to the prison.  Random employment checks occur on a regular basis, as does random drug testing.  Inmates must have served at least two thirds of their sentence and be close to their parole or discharge date to be eligible for the work release program.  Additionally, all inmates undergo a risk analysis and must be a low security risk.
