SCI Pine Grove

Pine Grove State Correctional Institution is located in Indiana Pennsylvania.  The facility specializes in housing young adult offenders, and currently houses approximately 1,100 male inmates.  Although the facility specializes in youthful offenders, inmates under the age of 20 only make up about 40% of the population, the average age of inmates at this facility is about 38 years old.  SCI Pine Grove is comprised of 19 buildings, eight of which are housing units.  Inmates are housed in both dormitory style housing units and multiple occupancy cells.  SCI Pine Grove participates in the Community Work Program and has one of the highest number of service hours donated to local community projects.

Pine Grove State Correctional Institution offers a variety of educational courses for inmates, including adult literacy courses, and the ability to earn an education up to a GED level.  Vocational training at SCI Pine Grove includes business education, HVAC, computer aided drafting (CAD), and custodial maintenance.  Violence prevention courses , victim education, various self help groups, therapeutic communities, and sex offender treatment are some of the programs inmates  can participate in.

Visiting Hours at Pine Grove State Correctional Institution:

Visitation at Pine Grove State Correctional Institution is conducted on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30am-3:30pm.  The processing of visitors stops at 2pm, if you arrive after 2pm you will not be allowed to enter into visitation.  SCI Pine Grove utilizes a vending card to purchase items in the visiting room.  You must purchase the card in the lobby, the initial purchase is $5 which covers the $2 cost of the card and loads it with $3 to use in the vending machines or to purchase photos.  You can reuse/reload the card each time you visit and load up to $75 dollars on it.
