John R. Lindsey State Jail

Lindsey State Jail is a privately run facility (operated by Corrections Corporation of America CCA) that houses inmates awaiting trial, offenders who have just been arrested, transient offenders, and minimum security prisoners.  Lindsey State Jail is situated on 64 acres and houses a maximum of 1,031 male inmates.  Offenders are provided adult basic education courses, life skills classes, and can earn a GED during their incarceration.  Vocational training is available in horticulture and computer applications.  Additionally, inmates who are nearing their release date can participate in transitional planning and re-entry programs.

Offenders who have dental, medical, or mental health issues can receive off site treatment.  Support groups are provided to those offenders who suffer from drug and alcohol dependency.  The Chaplains office provides religious worship services and biblical studies.

Visiting Hours at Lindsey State Jail:

Visits at the Lindsey State Jail are held on Weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) from 8am-5pm.  Inmates are allowed one visit per weekend which can be as long as two hours in duration if space and time permit.  Visitors may bring up to $25 in quarters contained in a clear Ziploc bag for use in the vending machines.  A maximum of one adult and three children or two adults and two children are allowed to attend a visiting session.  All visitors must be approved to visit prior to attending a visitation, Lindsey State Jail allows you to call Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm to find out if you have been approved or not.
