Henley State Jail is a minimum security jail for females located in Dayton Texas, part of Liberty County.  The facility houses up to 576 level J1-J2 female offenders and inmates who are in the substance abuse treatment program or designated as transient.  Henley State Jail provides on site medical and mental health care, as well as routine dental services.  Henley State Jail is located on approximately 400 acres shared with Hightower and Plane Units.  These facilities share many security resources including mounted horse patrols, and security dogs.

Hensley State Jail offers inmates literacy courses, adult basic education classes, and the ability for offenders to earn a GED during their incarceration.  Vocational programs are limited to a single class called business computer information systems.  Henley State Jail runs a substance abuse treatment program, and offers parenting classes, pre-release and a cognitive intervention program.  Offenders are also permitted to work outside of the prison providing supervised labor for surrounding government agencies.  In prison work includes unit maintenance.  Henley State Jail also participates in the SKIP program which stands for Supporting Kids of Incarcerated Parents and includes a 21 week parenting skills class.  The SKIP program enables offenders to meet with their children every Thursday and participate in various activities.

Visiting Hours at Henley State Jail:

Henley State Jail has visitation on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am-5pm.  Bonding visitation occurs Monday through Friday from 10am-2pm.  Visits are usually up to two hours in duration.  Visitors can bring a clear Ziploc bag with up to twenty dollars in quarters to use in the visiting room vending machines.
