Buster Cole State Jail

Buster Cole State Jail is located in Bonham Texas.  It acts as both a jail and a prison by housing short term offenders (2 years of less) and long term G2 minimum security inmates.  The current capacity of Buster Cole State Jail is 900 male inmates.  This facility is located on a shared premise with the C. Moore Unit, and shares a facility garden that farms the land and produces edible crops for a local food bank.  Inmates at Cole Unit can be selected to work in supervised community work projects which include providing labor for the department of transportation and Texas parks/wildlife.

Inmates can participate in various religious based worship services and studies offered through the Chaplains office.  Additionally, offenders can receive substance abuse treatment, take parenting and life skills classes, and receive employment preparation courses.  Literacy, adult basic education and GED classes are provided through the facilities education department.  Vocational classes are offered to inmates in heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), and in electrical systems.

Visiting Hours at Buster Cole State Jail (Cole Unit):

Visitation at the Cole Unit in Texas occurs on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am-5pm.
