Bay State Correctional Center is located in Norfolk Massachusetts.  It is a medium security prison that over the years has grown to house over 320 adult males who are serving both long term, and short term sentences.  Many of the prisoners at Bay State Correctional Center are elderly, as this is a fully handicapped accessible prison.

Inmates at Bay State Correctional Center can participate in a large number of programs.  One of the more unique programs is called Prison Voices, in which inmates visit children and young adults to explain the truth about committing crimes, and explain what the consequences are for poor decision making.  Offenders can also take educational programs to earn a GED, and vocational classes that teach various skills including furniture repair.  Anger management is another program offered at this institution that aims to curb aggressive behavior.

Visiting Hours at Bay State Correctional Center:

Visiting is on Sundays and Mondays in two sessions from 12:45pm-4:30pm and again from 5pm-8:45pm.  The processing of visitors starts at 12:30pm and stops at 8:15pm, you must arrive before 8:15pm or you will not be allowed to visit.  There is no processing of visitors during the shift change from 2:30pm-3:15pm, and during the 3:45 count.
