Metropolitan Transition Center

Metropolitan Transition Center is located in Baltimore Maryland.  It is a minimum security prison that can house over 700 adult males.  This correctional facility is also considered the oldest in the nation and was founded in 1811.  Inmates at this prison can receive substance abuse treatment through a therapeutic community setting, each year this facility treats about 200 offenders.  

Vocational skills taught at Metropolitan Transition Center include certification in automotive repair, HVAC, roofing, warehousing, plumbing, carpentry, printing, and information technology.  Inmates can also earn a GED and take classes in reading, writing and math.

Visiting Hours at Metropolitan Transition Center:

General population inmates have visitation on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in two sessions; the morning session 9:30am-3pm (must register by 1:30pm) and the evening session 4pm-9pm (must register by 7:30pm).  Visits are 45 minutes long.
Hospital inmates have visitation on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30am-3pm (must register by 1:30pm).  Visits are 45 minutes long.
