Maryland Correctional Training Center

Maryland Correctional Training Center is located in Hagerstown Maryland.  It is a mixed custody facility that houses minimum, medium and pre-release inmates.  Currently this facility can house approximately 2,730 inmates.  The average duration of an inmates stay is 4.5 years.  The Maryland Correctional Training Center operates on a $71.7 million budget.  Offenders can earn a GED and take vocational courses in electrical wiring, carpentry, engine and auto body repair, plumbing, masonry, and office technology.

Inmates incarcerated at the Maryland Correctional Training Center can participate in the correctional enterprises program that allows inmates to work repairing and remanufacturing cartridges for laser printers, copiers, and fax machines.  Inmates in the program can also produce corrugated cartons and office work partitions.

Visiting Hours at Maryland Correctional Training Center:

Visits are one hour in duration.  Visits for general population inmates occur on Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8:30am-2:30pm.  You must arrive by 2pm or you will not be allowed to enter into visitation.  Disciplinary Segregation inmates have visitation on Mondays from 8:30am-2:30pm.  They are allowed a single non-contact visit each week.  Inmates who are housed in the Harold E. Donnel Building and Emergency Housing Unit have visitation on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays in two sessions, the morning session from 8:30am-9:45am and the afternoon session from 12pm-2:30pm.
