Southeast State Correctional Facility

Southeast State Correctional Facility is a minimum security prison located in Windsor Vermont.  This facility can house up to 104 offenders.  The prison was opened in 1935 and has had several additions and upgrades over the years, but today it requires a large number of maintenance repairs.  Southeast State Correctional Facility is comprised of five General Population units, A-F sometimes referred to as Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Echo unit.  Offenders at this facility provide a labor force for a non-profit group responsible for gleaning crops and packaging them for distribution to local schools, hospitals and food banks.  Recently this prison has come under a proposal to be closed in order to save the state over $1.5 million.
