Patrick Henry Correctional Unit

Patrick Henry Correctional Unit opened in 1967 as a level 1 high correctional field unit and is located in Ridgeway Virginia.  This facility houses approximately 136 offenders.  To qualify to be housed at this unit, inmates must not have committed murder, kidnapping, or a sex offense and cannot have a history of escape.  Offenders can receive vocational training during their incarceration and can learn to battle forest fires, and even be placed into active fire fighting service during their sentence.
