Montgomery State Prison

Montgomery State Prison is located in Mount Vernon Georgia.  It is a medium security institution that can hold 900 adult males who have been convicted of a felony.  Inmates are housed in six dormitories.  Eight isolation cells are reserved for inmates who become difficult to manage, and eight two man segregation units are reserved for inmates with safety/security concerns.

Inmates may be selected to be part of a work crew which can work outside the prison for various supportive roles in the county government.  Inmates can also participate in vocational programs  that include working on a farm (egg production), landscaper, custodian, auto repair and maintenance, fork lift operator, food preparation, and upholstery.

Visiting Hours at Montgomery State Prison:

Visitation is on Saturdays, Sundays and State recognized Holidays from 9am-3pm.
