Lebanon Correctional Institution

Lebanon Correctional Institution is a close custody prison located in Lebanon Ohio.  It currently can house over 2,500 male inmates, a small portion of which are minimum and medium custody offenders.  A crochet program teaches inmates the basics of crocheting and is responsible for creating hats and scarves for donation to a homeless shelter.  An additional sewing program creates custom clothing for wounded servicemen from the military.  Inmates at Lebanon Correctional Institution can also work in the prison industries in a license plate factory, creating license plate validation stickers, and in a distribution warehouse.  .

Lebanon Correctional Institution is separated into nine cell blocks with three tiers in each.  Each tier can hold up to 250 men.  Inmates can participate in the Adoptable Dog Program which allows offenders to work training and fostering shelter dogs.  Select offenders can participate in vocational and Apprenticeship programs in food production services, graphics, baking, farm equipment mechanics, animal training, tailoring, HVAC, electrician, plumbing, painting, water treatment plant operator, and recovery operator.  This facility was the focus of a National Geographic documentary called Lockdown predators in prison which highlights the gang activity that is rampant in this prison.

Visiting Hours at Lebanon Correctional Institution:

Visitation at Lebanon Correctional Institution are based on the last digit of the inmate's identification number.  Inmates who have odd numbers are allowed visits on odd dates, inmates with even numbers are allowed visits on even days.  All visits require you make a reservation to visit at least three days in advance by calling (513)-932-4616.  Inmates are allowed up to three visitors per session and allowed two visits per month.  Visiting occurs on the following schedule:

  • Monday-Friday visitation occurs at:
    • 12:15pm-2:15pm (processing ends at 1pm)
    • 2:45pm-4:45pm (processing ends at 3:30pm)
    • 5:15pm-7:15pm (processing ends at 6pm)
  • Saturday and Sunday visitation occurs at:
    • 9:30am-11:30am (processing ends at 10:15am)
    • 12pm-2pm (processing ends at 12:45pm)
    • 2:30pm-4:30pm (processing ends at 3:15pm)
  • Inmates at the Camp have visiting Monday-Friday from 4:30pm-7:30pm (must arrive by 6pm) and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm-3pm (must arrive by 1:30pm) and 4:30pm-7:30pm (must arrive by 6pm).

Lebanon Correctional Institution also offers video visitation through JPAY.  Video visitation is available everyday from 7:30am-10:30am, 12pm-3pm and 5:30pm-8:30pm.  A fee is charged for video visitation,  and the duration of the visits are 30 minutes.
