Lanesboro Correctional Institution is located in Polkton North Carolina.  It is a close custody facility, which is the equivalent of maximum security.  Inmates at this prison are kept under close watch and have committed very serious crimes.  The current capacity of Lanesboro Correctional Institution is 1,400 adult male inmates.  This facility faces multiple accusations of correctional officers abusing their power, and several inmates have reported a high incidence of violence between inmates and from correctional officers.  This is considered one of the worst prisons in the state to be incarcerated in.

Visiting Hours at Lanesboro Correctional Institution:

Visiting at Lanesboro Correctional Institution is by appointment only.  Offenders are allowed up to three visitors at a time.  You must be on time for your appointment, if you are late you will not be allowed to visit.

  • General Population inmates have visits on:
    • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 8:15am-10:15am and 1:30pm-3:30pm
  • STG and Control Status inmates have visits on:
    • Fridays from 9am-10am, 1pm-2pm, and 2:30pm-3:30pm
