Kinross Correctional Facility

Kinross Correctional Facility is located in Kincheloe Michigan, part of Chippewa County.  Currently, Kinross Correctional Facility can house 1,910 level I and II adult males.  This prison has the distinction of having the largest fenced area of any Michigan prison.  Inmates are secured by two fences topped in razor wire, motion detection systems, and armed patrols of the perimeter.

Inmates at this facility can receive vocational training in auto body repair, automotive repair, welding, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, custodial maintenance, horticulture and business technologies.  Offenders can also earn a GED while incarcerated and receive substance abuse treatment and mental health services.
