Kentucky State Reformatory is located in LaGrange Kentucky, part of Oldham County.  It is a medium security prison that houses approximately 2,005 adult males making it the second largest correctional facility in the state.  The large tower in the center of the picture above is the administration building, it is where staff offices, a hospital and living quarters for some staff are located.  Inmates are housed in one of twelve dormitories.  In addition to general population units, this facility has a dedicated psychiatric treatment unit, and special management unit.

Kentucky State Reformatory has a variety of education, vocational and treatment programs designed to aid in the inmates rehabilitation.  Offenders can earn a GED and adult basic education while incarcerated, in addition inmates can attend substance abuse treatment programs that include Alcoholics Anonymous.  A pre-release program is designed to address the concerns and challenges an inmate will face in their impending release (within 90 days).

Visiting Hours at Kentucky State Reformatory:

Visiting occurs on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 8:30am-3pm.  You must arrive by 2pm or you will not be admitted to visitation.  Visits on Mondays and Fridays are for all inmates, on the weekends the inmate will alternate Saturdays and Sundays depending on if the inmates ID number ends in an odd or even digit.  To view the current schedule click here.
