Clyde M. Johnston Unit

The Clyde M. Johnston Unit is a Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility located in Winnsboro Texas.  Johnston Unit can house a maximum of 612 adult male offenders who are classified as a substance abuse custody level.  Offenders can receive substance abuse treatment, participate in support groups, and receive courses in parenting, life skills, and literacy.  Inmates are provided work opportunities in agricultural operations that include producing hay and working in a unit garden.  Some offenders are selected to provide a labor force to the Texas Department of Transportation and the Division of Parks and Wildlife.

Visiting Hours at Johnston Unit:

Visitation for Johnston Unit occurs on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 5pm.  Visits can be up to two hours in duration if space and time permits.  Inmates are limited to one visit per weekend.
