Eastham Unit

Eastham Unit is a mixed custody prison located in Lovelady Texas.  Eastham Unit can house up to 2,153 inmates in the main unit and an additional 321 males in the Trusty Camp.  Offender custody levels range from G1 minimum security to G4 maximum security and administrative segregation inmates.  Eastham Unit runs agricultural operations at the facility that include cattle raising, egg laying, a feed and grain storage mill, and raising swine.  Additionally, the Eastham Unit employs offenders in a garment factory.

Eastham Unit provides literacy, adult basic education and GED courses to offenders.  Vocational training is provided in automotive technologies, painting, and culinary preparation.  All inmates at Eastham Unit are provided medical and dental treatment, and mental health services.  Parenting classes, employment preparation, pre-release preparation, and substance abuse education are just some of the programs offered.  Offenders can also participate in faith based worship services and studies.

Visiting Hours at Eastham Unit:

Visitation at the Eastham Unit occurs on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am-5pm.  All visitors must be on the inmate's approved visitation list before they can attend a visiting session.
