Dodge State Prison

Dodge State Prison is located in Chester Georgia.  It is a medium security institution that houses approximately 1,236 adult males who have been convicted of felonies.  General population inmates are housed in dormitories, similar to a large gymnasium.  Segregation inmates are housed in single cell isolation.  Select inmates can participate in work details on and off the institutional grounds, these assignments include grounds maintenance, and other correctional industries including furniture production.

Educational opportunities for inmates include earning a GED, learning to read, and gaining a basic adult education.  Offenders can also receive substance abuse, family violence, re-entry, and sex offender treatment and therapy through counseling sessions.  Vocational skills that are taught at Dodge State Prison include computer operation, custodial work, clerks skills, warehousing and inventory, barbering, laundry services, auto detailing and culinary preparation skills.

Visiting Hours at Dodge State Prison:

Visiting for inmate in general population are Saturdays, Sundays and State Holidays from 9am-3pm.  Inmates in segregation have visitation on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-11am.
