Coweta County Correctional Institution

Coweta County Correctional Institution is located in Newnan Georgia.  It is a medium security correctional facility that houses approximately 210 adult males who have committed felonies.  Inmates are housed in dormitory settings with 24 beds in nine separate dormitories.  Segregation and isolation cells are reserved for inmates who present a management/behavioral problem, or inmates who have safety/security concerns.

Inmates can work on various work details including, trash/road crew, paving, bridge construction and repair, building construction repair and maintenance, animal control, and auto/truck equipment repair.  These services are provided to the county by the inmates creating a labor force that supports the county government.  Inmates who suffer from substance abuse issues can receive counseling.  Offenders can also earn their GED while incarcerated.
