Clallam Bay Corrections Center

Clallam Bay Corrections Center opened in 1985 as a medium security prison.  In 1991 the prison converted to a closed custody prison.  It is a mixed custody facility that houses medium, maximum, and close custody offenders.  The maximum capacity of Clallam Bay Corrections Center is 858 adult male inmates.  The majority of inmates at this facility are incarcerated for violent offenses.  Clallam Bay Corrections Center provides educational opportunities for inmates that include adult basic education, and GED testing.  Additional education courses are provided in cloud and computer development, small business accounting, small business entrepreneurship, and professional baking/pastries.

Clallam Bay Corrections Center participates in a dog adoption program that allows inmates to partner with a dog and teach it obedience training.  The dog adoption program is provided through the Welfare Animal Guild.  Offenders have access to bible study and religious worship services through volunteer programs.  The Correctional Industries program at Clallam Bay Corrections Center operates a laundry and garment factory, employing select offenders.  Inmates can receive vocational training in electrical wiring, welding, automotive repair, and landscaping.

Visiting Hours at Clallam Bay Corrections Center:

To attend a visiting session you must have an approved visitors application on file.  Visits at Clallam Bay Corrections Center occur on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from 11am-7:15pm.  Visitors will not be allowed to enter into the institution between 1pm and 2:15pm, from 4pm to 5:15pm and after 6:30pm.  Regular visitation will not be held on certain facility event days, always call the institution a day or so prior to your planned visit to ensure visitation has not been canceled.  To learn more about visiting an inmate at Clallam Bay Corrections Center read the visitors guide here.  You can view the current schedule of special events here.
