Central Michigan Correctional Facility

Central Michigan Correctional Facility is located in St. Louis Michigan. It is a secure level I facility that can house 2,404 adult males. Inmates are housed in seven to eight bed open bay cells, with around 150 prisoners in each unit. There are sixteen housing units total. Inmates incarcerated here who are close to the end of their sentences can participate in a pre-release program that helps prepare the inmate for leaving the facility.

Substance abuse treatment is available for all inmates at Central Michigan Correctional Facility, and a variety of voluntary self help programs are designed to help restructure inmate behavior. Vocational studies are available in the following areas: custodial maintenance, horticulture, business technology, and various construction disciplines. Offenders can also take Adult basic education and GED courses while incarcerated.
