Buckingham Correctional Center

Buckingham Correctional Center is a close custody institution located in Dillwyn Virginia.  This facility can house up to 1,100 male offenders.  Buckingham Correctional Center is comprised of five housing units, a reception center, a recreation building, a dining hall, an administration building and a warehouse.  This prison participates in the Virginia Correctional Enterprise program and employs inmates in a metal shop.  Additionally, offenders can work within the prison in laundry, landscaping, custodial and building maintenance, and working in the kitchen.

Vocational programs taught at Buckingham Correctional Center include electrical wiring, plumbing, and commercial food preparation.  Inmates have access to substance abuse treatment, Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous programs, anger management, sex offender treatment services and a veterans support group.  Programs in parenting and religious services are also available to inmates.
