Bland Correctional Center

Bland Correctional Center is a mixed custody facility that opened in 1946.  It is considered a level 2 and level 1 facility that has a housing capacity of 652 male inmates.  Offenders are housed in four buildings with a total of 14 housing units within them, and three modular housing units that were put in place in 1990.  An additional segregation unit at Bland Correctional Center houses inmates with behavioral or security issues.  In addition to housing multiple security levels, Bland Correctional Center serves as an intake and classification facility for inmates transferred from jails.  During the intake process offenders are assessed and assigned an appropriate facility based on the security level and program needs of the inmate.

Programs at Bland Correctional Center include an agriculture business and the pups program.  The agriculture business processes and ships meat and dairy products to nine prisons in the region.  The pups program is provided through St. Francis of Assisi Service Dog Foundation which allows inmates to live with, care for and train puppies as service animals who will later assist people with disabilities.

Visiting Hours at Bland Correctional Center:
